Can all your users and their devices access the network at the same time?

Solutions I.T. provides strong wireless solutions tailored to suit your requirements. Essentially wireless is all about connectivity; your users need to be connected using a variety of different devices anytime, anywhere.

If next generation working is about enabling access at anytime, anywhere – then the reliability and performance of your wireless networks is only going to become more important.

Two of the biggest challenges when it comes to WLAN is time and experience. It can be difficult to keep up with demand and if you’re an IT novice. The good news is that you can overcome these challenges with help from the experts.

Solutions I.T. will work with you to address performance issues and develop a Managed Wireless solution that is robust, secure and cost-effective. We’ve completed Managed Wireless projects for organisations of all sizes, and will deploy a solution that’s right for you.

Advantages of wireless communication:

  • Any data or information can be transmitted faster and with a high speed
  • Maintenance and installation cost less
  • The internet can be wirelessly accessed from anywhere
  • Helpful for workers and doctors working in remote areas as they can now be in touch with medical centres.

A seamless way to transfer information

Gone are the days of using cables. We now live in the era of wireless communication, allowing us to transfer data through the air using electromagnetic waves. How is this possible?

Simply known as ‘wireless’, data is transferred between two or more points that are not connected by an electrical conductor. There are various types of wireless communication used in the workplace today:

Wi-fi is a low power wireless communication system and is used by various electronic devices; smartphones, laptops, tablets, etc. and is most common in networking applications. These networks need to be protected with passwords for security, otherwise they could be accessed by unauthorised individuals. It’s an economical networking option and can be used by multiple devices.[/fancy_box]

Voice communication enables people to use the internet for telephone calls. How is this possible? Voice data is sent in packets using IP, rather than by traditional circuit transmissions of the PSTN. Instead of using a handset, many organisations now prefer to download a VoIP app to make all their office phone calls.[/fancy_box]

Bluetooth technology allows you to connect all your electronic devices wirelessly to a system for the transferring of data. Smartphones can now be connected to hands-free earphones, mouse and wireless keyboards. By using a Bluetooth device, the information can be quickly and cheaply transferred from one device to another. This technology has various functions and is commonly used in the wireless communication market.[/fancy_box]

The top five things to consider before implementing wireless data solutions:

  • What are the main goals the wireless system must deliver? (note these down as they are the key to a successful deployment)
  • How many users will be accessing wi-fi at the same time in any given area?
  • How easy is it to add access points without affecting coverage?
  • What type of security do we need to implement?
  • How will the wireless infrastructure cope with future developments? e.g. high definition tri casting, VOIP telephony

Why so many organisations have adapted wireless communication

Wireless communication increases efficiency and productivity, which is why it has been introduced in the workplace. It offers the following advantages:

Collaboration

A recent poll also showed that 86% of surveyed executives think that workers will be more accessible for collaboration in the future – even while on vacation. The evolution of wireless communication means that you don’t have to be in the same building, room, or even country, to work with your colleagues. Meetings can take place over a phone call and the need for travelling for meetings is essentially eliminated.

Mobilisation

Related to collaboration is the mobilisation. More and more workers are ditching the traditional office setting in favour of working from home or coffee shops.  With mobile phone and wireless technology increasing in functionality, workers are expected to use their phones or tablets to get their work done, rather than relying on a desktop computer at a home or company office space.
